My Snap On dealer will let me run $2k on truck credit Cornwell dealers never seem to want to go over $500. I just got a new Cornwell dealer today, so hopefully that changes.įinally credit is something to consider. My last Cornwell dealer would disappear for months at a time and never answer the phone. My Snap On dealer has a massive inventory and will come to the shop pretty much whenever I call him needing something. In practice I can order those tools off of Amazon for much cheaper than what the truck will sell them for.Ī lot of it comes down to service also. I like that Cornwell carries Lisle and OTC in theory. I have one set of low profile impact sockets that have been great, but they very rarely get used. I've had Cornwell pliers, wrenches, and swivel sockets that didn't hold up. I've gotten more just plain junk tools from Cornwell than Snap On. If its a rare use thing Cornwell can be a decent option to save some cash. For a tool that I am going to use everyday, I'll spend the extra and get the Snap On. I also just have a really awesome Cornwell guy. I'm very much a Cornwell guy, and what I don't buy Cornwell I buy MAC. But the few things I have bought have been egregiously overpriced and I've had my share of issues with them. I don't buy much Snap-On, our dealer is a douchenozzle and always trying to sell me a toolbox I don't want, even though he knows I already have a nice Matco 6s. It has never failed to remove a fastener. drive high torque Milwaukee impact and a 12Ah battery, which would normally cost about $700+, and I paid $471 for it.
He gives me discounts and shit all the time. Haven't had any other issues yet, and I've probably spent about $15,000-$20,000 with him. It had an issue (because I oiled it a grand total of 5 times the whole time I owned it) and he didn't even ask me a question besides "What's the issue?" And he sent it in for warranty, he offered to lend me another one but I declined as I have an electric impact and another air one that both do the job just fine, this one is just my favorite. He charged me for the part and then installed it in 45 seconds.
Wanted a suppressor because it was so loud. Took it to the truck and he rebuilt it on the spot and handed it back to me a minute and a half later. I have 6 of their ratchets, and I had 1 issue 1 time, 12-inch flex-head 3/8 decided to randomly swap directions sometimes while I was using it quickly. They sell Milwaukee, which IMO is the BEST electric tool brand, especially for the price. Air tools are a dream to use, since most of them are rebadged Ingersoll.
